Having Fun Again - Red Pin Cushion

I thought I'd paint a small painting this morning to loosen up for the portrait of the day.  So I decided to paint this cute little red pincushion.  It came out pretty good so I posted it to DPW.
This type of painting gets you going and usually makes you happy before delving into the work of the day.

I'm off to Rockport Art Association's opening weekend today because I need an outing since this arctic weather is driving me crazy.  It warmed up to 24 degrees today and is finally out of the single digits, but I'm not happy.  When I get back, I'll work on the M&Ms.

Double checking things this morning on my online pages, I discovered that when you click on 'my website' on DPW, the site (which was created with Weebly) comes up without a background image and when you click on the gallery pages, they come up with minuscule thumbnails.  Ouch!  Well, I could stay here all day and try to figure it out, but I opted to write to a few help pages to try to get answers.  Just when I thought that I had at least solved the website problems and was thinking of making another one for another business.

I'm personally charged up over this semi-abstract interpretation of a stack of plates with a cup and orange.  The impetus for the stripes comes from the fact that my printer was running out of ink and you know how stripes appear when that happens?  I ran with it.
I'm a lot closer now to finishing my new web site as the domain name will be finally transferred by Sunday, so they say.  I've been a member of DPW for years but have not fully participated, and now I'm gearing up for that as well, so my PayPal account, Etsy account, Facebook Fan page, and a couple of other blogs are all ready for prime time.  Hey, at least I'm getting those new year's resolutions checked off my list.

Today I'm headed down to Newburyport Art Association to check out the new Winter Juried Show.
I'm fairly happy to report that I have almost completed my new web page, at least to the extent that I can before publishing it with the correct web address and paying the small monthly fee to get added features to work.  I had to conform to their formatting for now, and later I can become more proficient at using code to improve it.
The other matter that I must contend with today is organizing my photos in Photoshop which, over time, have become so scrambled that I can't find anything anymore.  I started yesterday and have a good plan and this will enable me to move ahead more easily with various postings I'll be doing.  I'm making a new FB fan page to go along with my DPW membership.

I'm surprised to see that I have 10,000 page views on my adventures blog today.  Wow.

Four in Four Challenge Completed

This was my submission to Carol's 4 in 4 Challenge.  I painted one a day for four days.  That wasn't the challenge however, it was to paint an object on three colors of paper four different times.  My photo is dark, maybe I'll go in and try to lighten it.  I fussed over the first one, taking photos, cropping them, printing them out and painting from one of them.  Then I noticed that the colors were more vivid in real life as opposed to the printed photo, so I painted the other three from life.

It is painted on canvas and will be affixed to gatorboard or masonite, your choice. 

I haven't been submitting to DPW for a long time now and have to spend some time improving my site and getting my PayPal going, etc.
