Flowers with Orange Stripes

I was showing a friend of mine the various Challenges on the Daily Paintworks page, and we saw this great challenge for stripes, so I LOVE ORANGE and couldn't wait to give it a go. I hope you will love it too.  Besides the flower petals are very dramatic, don't you think?
And that sliver of light!

News this week.

I sold a painting!
First time in a while since I haven't been doing studio work lately.  It feels good to be back.  I spent a few days updating my inventory lists and trying to match the list with the actual paintings.
So much to do.

My work will also be available in a shop in beautiful downtown Newburyport for the summer.

I'd like to clear out some of my inventory so the paintings on Daily Paintworks will be marked accordingly and lots more will be added to that online gallery site.

Reece's Big Cup Candy Bar, 6x6"

This one really looks good if I do say so myself!  I thought it would be fun to paint everyone's favorite candy bars, so I asked around to see who liked what. Now I have this huge bag of candy bars and I'm working my way through it, painting them that is, and I haven't eaten any yet.

Necco Wafers, 6x6"

Remember Necco Wafers?

Here is some information about how and why I decided to paint this kind of candy.  I tried to perk up the image with a colorful cascade of stripes because the candy and the packaging of these Necco Wafers is very light, the candy has a delightful sugar haze on each piece and the package is wax paper-like. This is a very old-fashioned candy which I used to get from my grandfather when I was a child. The manufacturer was located in Cambridge near Boston, Massachusetts. I guess I was in a crazy colorful mood when I chose to paint it this way.

Mounds Bar - candy bar series - 6 x 6"

I finally posted to my on-line gallery--Daily Paintworks as a way to get back into my art routine.  I'm a little rusty but it is fun all the same.  I think I have too many blogs and Facebook pages, and, yes, now I'm going to have to have Instagram!  Yesterday I got a new phone and Apple Watch so the learning curve gets steeper every day!

Hi! - I'm back.

I've been busy.  I completed the wall mentioned in the previous post, and have painted murals in another rink since then.  Here are photos of the finished wall mentioned in the previous post:
